Public Policy Institute (PPI) is a research organization founded in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. Its work is based on the empirical analysis of social, cultural, economic and political factors; combined with a solid understanding of theoretical approaches to international and regional public policy issues. It develops solutions to public policy challenges to help understand Kurdistan Region, Iraq and Middle East communities. PPI provides research services, systematic analysis, and innovative thinking to government agencies, NGOs, foundations, and private-sector firms. The institute’s research themes include, but not limited to, 1. Peace and conflict; 2. Ethno-religious components in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and wider Middle East; 3. Issues of identity politics and challenges to nation/state-building; 4. Good governance, social policy and development; 5. Gender; human mobility, migration and displacement; 6. Religious fundamentalism and sources of extremism. 7. Regional and gobal affairs We understand public policy in its broadest concept which embraces socio-economic and political dimensions of the life in which has been reflected in the below six outlined research themes/projects.
